Everett Leroy Vance, 79, a lifetime resident of the Warsaw and Pierceton areas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in his home outside of Pierceton. 

Shirley A. Fitzgerald, 77, Warsaw, passed away at midnight Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.  She was born March 28, 1940, in West Prestonsburg, Ky., to Mart and Sula Green Wallen. On Nov. 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harvey A. Fitzgerald in Wabash. 

Rosa Isela Ramos, Winona Lake, passed away at 3:07 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, at the age of 43. She was born Nov. 9, 1973, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Pedro Monsivais Leija and Rosa Maria Rodriguez Guzman, who both survive. On Nov. 5, 1994, she was married to Gregorio “Greg” Ramos Soriano, who survives.

FORT WAYNE — Arturo “Art” Saldivar Sr., 68, Pierceton, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.  Mr. Saldivar was born Oct. 12, 1948, in Snyder, Texas, to the late Rodolfo Saldivar Sr. and Piedad Rodriguez Saldivar. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1970-71 and earned an engineering degree in electronics and robotics from ITT Technical Institute, Fort Wayne. 

George “Dude” Paul Wiegand III, 68, died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2017, in his home near Warsaw.  He was born Jan. 15, 1949, to the late George P. Wiegand II and Joan Marceille Cary in Warsaw. He graduated from Pierceton High School in 1967, then served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. 

Wilfred E. “Woody” Wood, Leesburg, passed away at his residence at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at the age of 73.

AKRON — Mildred O. Harrold, 97, Akron, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at her residence.  She was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Kosciusko County, to Oren and Grace Cook Craig. She was united in marriage on Nov. 26, 1942, in the residence she had lived in most of her life, to Dorris L. Harrold, who preceded on June 9, 2009.

Tammy Sue Carpenter, 53, Warsaw, passed away in her residence at 2:13 p.m. Oct. 9, 2017. She was born April 1, 1964, in Alabama, to John and Rose McFarland Ott. She was married to Danny Carpenter, who preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker. She is survived by her children:

AKRON — Michael Owen Bennett, 63, Silver Lake (Disko), died at 5:49 p.m. Oct. 7, 2017, in Wabash County. He was born April 23, 1954, in Damariscotta, Maine, to Cyrus E. and Evelyn M. Bosworth Bennett. On Aug. 30, 2014, in Bristol, Maine, he married Araceli V. Paculba, who survives. Cremation has taken place. No services are planned. Suzanne H. Belknap, Warsaw, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, at the age of 81. She was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Painesville, Ohio, to Harriet Kathryn Deitrich and Francis Dorwin Hendrick. 

Jerry L. Titus, 69, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital after only a 16-day battle with cancer. Jerry was proud to be a lifetime Warsaw resident.
