Everett Leroy Vance, 79, a lifetime resident of the Warsaw and Pierceton areas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in his home outside of Pierceton.

Everett was born June 14, 1938, and was the son of Maurise and Cleo Sisk Vance. He attended local schools and graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1956.

Everett was a proud veteran of the United States Army who entered service to his country on Nov. 13, 1961. He served in Germany during Vietnam and was honorably discharged on Oct. 31, 1967.

He and Priscilla Sue Stevens were forever united in marriage on Feb. 3, 1962, in Warsaw. Married for nearly 55 years, the couple shared many joyful memories and raised two daughters, Teresa and Stefanie, on their farm outside of Pierceton. Priscilla preceded Everett in passing on Aug. 12, 2016.

Everett was retired from R.R Donnelley and Sons after more than 30 years of service to the company. He had worked as a pressman.

Throughout his life, Everett had raised black Angus cattle. He enjoyed reading novels, especially those by Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Louis L’Amour. He enjoyed traveling with his family and visiting family members all over the United States; he and Priscilla had made several trips to the East Coast to see the lighthouses there.

Everett was a hard worker, an unwavering provider and loved his family dearly.

Those who survive include two daughters, Teresa (husband John) Carpenter, Warsaw, and Stefanie Vance, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Jason (wife Ashley) Baker, Warsaw; Jessica Baker, Pierceton; and Kylie Carpenter, Warsaw; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John (wife Marjorie) Vance, Claypool; and a sister, MaryAnn Laird, Warsaw.
