Joyce I. Zolman, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 3:39 a.m. Feb. 21, 2017, in Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born March 10, 1943, in Warsaw, to Edward and Betty Hamman Ewing. A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was united in marriage to Jan Zolman on Nov. 28, 1970, in Warsaw. She had 32 years of service with J.C. Penney, Warsaw, and retired as a floor manager.

NAPPANEE — George F. Sheets, 82, Nappanee, died at 3:40 a.m. Feb. 19, 2017, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Sebring, Fla., after an illness of three weeks. On June 23, 1946, in Huntington, she married Gail E. Finney, who preceded her on July 23, 1989. She graduated in 1943 from Huntington High School and was a World War II Navy veteran.

Francis John “Jack” Fitzwilliam, Warsaw, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Feb. 19, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 87. He was born June 19, 1929, in Tengyueh, China, to missionary parents Francis Julius Fitzwilliam and Jennie Eliza Kingston Fitzwilliam. On March 24, 1951, in Wheaton, Ill., he was married to Alice Ruth Larson, who survives in Warsaw.

He spent most of his life in Yorktown and Delaware County before moving to Warsaw in 2011. He enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncie, and was a AWANA leader for more than 20 years. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
MENTONE – Betty J. Miller, 89, formerly of Mentone, passed away at 7:08 a.m. Feb. 20, 2017, at Mason Health Care of Warsaw. She was born March 30, 1927, in Fulton County, to Max and Leoma Heminger Anderson. On Feb. 2, 1947, in Koontz Lake, she married Harold L. Miller, who preceded her on July 26, 1997.
JEFFERSON, Ga. – Margaret Ring Miller, 94, a native of Pierceton, died Feb. 17, 2017, in a nursing home at Griffin, Ga. She was born in Pierceton on April 10, 1922, the daughter of Scott P. and Rosa V. Goodrich Ring. She graduated from Pierceton High School in 1940. After moving from Indiana, she lived in Jefferson and Milner, Ga., and volunteered with the Jackson County Senior Citizens Center for 18 years after her retirement. She was a member of the Galilee Christian Church, Jefferson.

She was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Fort Wayne, to Charles Burton and Frances Marie Wagner Moore. On Jan. 26, 1963, in Fort Wayne, she married Albert A. “Bert” Bauer, who preceded her in death Sept. 25, 2012.
NORTH MANCHESTER – Billy E. Kline, 78, died at 3:38 p.m. Feb. 17, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born March 18, 1938, in Wabash, to Everett and Grace Maidford Kline. ROANN – Marilyn Anne Zinsmeister, 79, Roann, died at 4 p.m. Feb. 19, 2017, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Wabash, to Hugh and Mones L. Meyer Slee. She married George Zinsmeister at the Roann First Brethren Church on Feb. 16, 1957, and they just celebrated their 60th anniversary with an open house on Thursday. He survives in Roann.

Paul David Dwyer, 82, known by most as “PD,” passed away at 9 a.m. Feb. 16, 2017, in his Chapman Lake home. He was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Fort Wayne, to David John and Mary Elizabeth Runkle Dwyer. He married Sondra “Sonnie” King on July 26, 1958, in St. Paul Catholic Parish, Marion.
SOUTH WHITLEY – Lawrence A. Roberts, 94, South Whitley, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 16, 2017, at Miller’s at Oak Pointe where he had been a resident since September 2013. He was born Aug. 3, 1922, in Wabash County, a son of Elmer and Ethel Stoner Roberts. A lifelong resident of rural South Whitley, he graduated from South Whitley High School. On Nov. 25, 1942, he was inducted into the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged Nov. 23, 1943. On Nov. 4, 1944, he was united in marriage to Betty L. Tschantz. They celebrated 71 years of marriage. Mrs. Roberts passed on May 31, 2016. He owned and operated Roberts Body Shop in Collamer for over 50 years. He was a member of Collamer Christian Church. Surviving relatives include two children, Wayne Roberts and Julia (spouse Dan) Rowland, all of South Whitley; two daughters-in-law, Judy Roberts Egolf, Columbia City, and Sue Roberts, North Manchester; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Randall Roberts and Kenton Roberts; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Roberts; a brother, Charles Roberts; and a sister, Dorothy McDonald. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
