SYRACUSE — Michael Pena, 21, Richmond, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Feb. 20, 2017, at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1995, in Goshen, to Felix and Heather Byrd Pena. He was a 2014 graduate of Wawasee High School, where he excelled at soccer, wrestling and track. Nothing was more important to him than his family and friends. He was also very open about his love for God and wanted to share that love with everyone. He is survived by his parents, Felix and Heather Pena, Syracuse; a sister, Audrianna (spouse Kris) Cunningham, Richmond; a brother, Christopher Pena, Syracuse; a grandfather, Robert Byrd, Muncie; and grandmothers, Martha (spouse Ted) Trevino, Cromwell, and Brenda Byrd, Claypool.
