10 Years AgoThe Messages to the Future Scroll and solicitation of items for the 2050 time capsule sponsored by the Kosciusko County Historical Society was considered successful, according to organizers. The event was held during this year's observation of Warsaw's 125th anniversary as a city, the millennium and Warsaw Downtown Days. Nearly 100 area businesses, churches and civic organizations contributed products and documents to the time capsule that is housed in a fireproof container in the basement of the Old Jail Museum.25 Years AgoWagon Wheel Playhouse of Warsaw will honor its 1 millionth customer this weekend. Beckie Menzie, business manager at the playhouse, figures the millionth customer will probably go through the turnstile Aug. 3. The lucky theater-goer will receive royal treatment from the playhouse, including a free trip to New York City as part of Wagon Wheel's Broadway Tour.50 Years AgoBe Careful, Grandpa! Three-year old Lana Lee Scott, of Claypool, wasn't too sure if she liked seeing a lamb being clipped or not, and the big BAAA! didn't help her make up her mind in the livestock building at the county fair. Lana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Scott, of Claypool, was watching her grandfather, Leo Scott, do the shearing. 75 Years AgoThe American Legion auxiliary met recently at the Legion hall for the second regular meeting of the month. Ruby Carroll, child welfare chairman, reported sending a quantity of comic papers to the children at the Knightstown home. Edith Lichtenwalter, rehabilitation chairman, reported sending a package of stationery and a book of stamps to each of the boys whom the unit has adopted at the Marion U.S. Veterans Hospital.
