CLAYPOOL – Bryon Wells was appointed Monday to the vacant Clay Township Advisory Board position, but he will not be on the ballot during the November general election.

While the Warsaw Common Council still has to vote on the proposed 2027 budgets presented to them on Monday, Aug. 3 and Aug. 17, council members praised the city department heads Monday after the last half of the budgets were presented.

On the first five-hour day Monday of the two days of budget hearings for county departments, the Kosciusko County Council cut $1 million from the Commissioners’ $6 million Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) fund for infrastructure and major improvements.

County Council is the purse strings of county government, and at their meeting Monday for 2027 department budgets they were pulling on those strings to tighten budgets as much as they could.
