Warsaw Community Schools will host the annual Kindergarten Round-Up event for all incoming 2020-2021 kindergarten students and parents on March 12 at all eight elementary schools. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the informational presentation scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and end by 6:30 p.m.
This event will provide information to parents on the upcoming registration process and give families the opportunity to meet their building staff, principal and teachers. Parents will not preregister students at Kindergarten Round-Up, so there will be no need to bring immunization or birth certificate records at this time. Parents will receive a folder on March 12 containing necessary documents and forms then sign up for a kindergarten assessment appointment. A link to register for the 2020-2021 school year will be sent via email to the email address the parent provided.
On March 12, parents will have the opportunity to tour a WCS school bus, receive information about WCS Food and Nutrition Services and meet with health care representatives to learn more about upcoming kindergarten physicals. As a reminder, incoming kindergarten students should be 5 on or before Aug. 1, according to school board policy. Parents are asked to attend their home school for the Kindergarten Round-Up event. Parents of kindergarten students who are interested in the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs at Leesburg or Eisenhower should attend Kindergarten Round-Up at the school assigned to their address. Similarly, parents of kindergarten students who are interested in transferring to an elementary school outside of their district should attend Kindergarten Round-Up at their current home school. Free childcare for siblings ages 3 to 6 will be available at each building.
