Wagon Wheel Symphony of the Lakes announced registration for the 12th Annual Young Artist Statewide Competition, an opportunity for talented young instrumentalists across Indiana to showcase their musicianship and compete for Tom Stirling Memorial Scholarships.
The competition is open to Indiana students who play string, wind, or percussion instruments. Participants will compete in one of two divisions based on grade level: junior division: grades 3-8; and senior division: grades 9-12.
The competition will take place beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center at Warsaw Community High School, according to a provided news release.
In addition to competing for Tom Stirling Memorial Scholarships, students will gain valuable performance experience while sharing their musical talents with a statewide audience.
Advance registration is required for all student participants. Students must be residents of Indiana and must either study with a private instructor or participate in school music activities.
Complete eligibility requirements, competition rules and registration instructions are available in the 2027 Young Artist Statewide Competition registration packet.
The registration deadline is Saturday, Jan. 30 at noon. Interested students and families are encouraged to review the registration packet and submit their applications before the deadline.
