AKRON - The Indiana Department of Education and the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. Board of School Trustees approved early dismissal of students Thursday to allow for staff development activities to be conducted.
Students will be dismissed after lunch at the following times: middle school, 12:15 p.m.; high school, 12:25 p.m.; Akron and Mentone elementary schools, 12:40 p.m.
If a parent or guardian is in need of child care for Thursday afternoon, they should call their child's school.
Children who normally attend kindergarten for the entire day (full day or a.m. kindergarten and extended day) will begin and end their school day the same as students in grades 1-5.
Children who attend only morning kindergarten will meet at their regularly scheduled time.
In the event of a two-hour weather delay, staff development activities will be cancelled, and students will remain in school until their regularly scheduled dismissal time
