Valley Downs Whitko And Manchester At Sycamore

    NORTH MANCHESTER — The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team won a three-team Three Rivers Conference match at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester Thursday.
    Shooting a 176 on the par-36 back nine, Valley beat Whitko by one stroke, while Manchester shot a 211.
    Whitko's Josh Busenbark was the medalist of the match, shooting a 42. Valley's top score came from Ted Shepherd, who shot a 43 and Manchester's Tyler Watson paced the Squires with a 44.
    Valley travels to Saturday's Peru Invitational and Manchester will be at the Wabash Invitational Saturday.

Thursday in Warsaw
The second-ranked Warsaw boys golf team closed its Northern Lakes Conference regular season out by shooting a 151 at Stonehenge Golf Club Thursday, defeating Northridge and Concord. Northridge finished its nine holes with a 156, while Concord shot a 170. Jon Schram led the field with a 35, followed by teammate Eric Tandy's 36. The win ends the 11-0 Tigers NLC season with a 7-0 mark. Warsaw will look to wrap up its second-straight NLC title Saturday when it competes in the NLC Championships at South Shore Golf Club in Syracuse.

Elkhart Memorial had the lowest score of three Northern Lakes Conference teams at McCormick Creek Golf Course in Nappanee Thursday. Shooting a 163, Memorial got the best of NorthWood (167) and Wawasee (176). NorthWood's Jesse Morganthaler was the medalist, shooting a 37 on the par-36 course. Wawasee was led by Ben Jackson and Luke Jackson each shot a 43. All three teams will be at South Shore Golf Club Saturday for the Northern Lakes Conference Championships.

Playing at Elkhart Memorial Thursday, the Warsaw Tigers closed out its Northern Lakes Conference season with an 4-2 victory. Warsaw's Kyle Gibbs, Austin Moore and Austin Franzen combined to give up just three hits to the Crimson Chargers. Offensively, Riley Reinholt, Moore and Aaron Christenberry each had two hits. The win leaves Warsaw with a 9-13 overall record and 8-6 NLC mark going into Saturday's Tiger Tournament at Warsaw Community High School.

John Beer got the victory, entering the game in the fourth inning, while Nate Hare and Drew Voirol each hit doubles. The Warriors travel to Lakeland Saturday for an 11 a.m. game.

The Warsaw softball team won its fourth-straight game Thursday at home, defeating Elkhart Memorial 9-4. In the Northern Lakes Conference finale, Alex Sanchez hit two home runs and Kendra Marshall hit her seventh of the season. Kaleigh Speicher got the win, improving her record to 10-3, while the Lady Tigers now sit at 17-8 overall and 9-5 in the NLC. The Lady Tigers close their regular season out by hosting Tippecanoe Valley today at 4:30 p.m.
