    Warsaw Police Chief Craig Allebach recently graduated from the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Va.

The FBI National Academy offers 11 weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having a proven record as a professional officer.

October 6 1975

    Ronald Newlin, A Tippecanoe Valley High School senior, is one of 15,000 students named a semifinalists in the 1976 National Merit Scholarship program.

Newlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice B. Newlin, Rt. 1, Claypool, is the first semifinalist from Tippecanoe Valley High, which went into operation with the 1974-75 term.

    C.W. Best, of Warsaw, won top honors among the men in the annual Art Merrill one-club golf tourney held at the South Shore Country Club, Lake Wawasee.

Best, touring the front nine in 44, using only a number two iron, received the top prize donated by Mr. Merrill, a Goshen dry cleaner and sponsor of the meet.

    The 139th Field Artillery of Indiana held a reunion on Sunday at Marion. Verlin Goss of Warsaw, was among the 250 present.
