    Jenny Bender was crowned 1988 Triton Junior Miss Saturday night at the Triton High School auditorium. Miss Bender, daughter of Dennis and Judy Bender of Bourbon, also received the Scholastic Achievement Award.

    The Grace College English department announced the awarding of six scholarships of $100 each to qualified English majors. The funds, which come from the estate of the late Rose S. Byers, were awarded to Anna Clark, Beverly Fields, Rick Halberg, Gary Long, Randy Maxson and Bonnie Stackhouse.

    Work on remodeling the Kosciusko County jail is progressing and Friday night, Howard Lightfoot, jail turnkey, moved into the new office of the turnkey, built just north of the sheriff's residence and adjoining the new jail garage.

    There is a difference of 58 years in the ages of two hunters licensed this week at the office of County Clerk R. H. Butler. They are: George Rutter, 72, of Warsaw, and John D. Nichols, 14, of Sidney.
