    The 1989 Wawasee High School valedictorian and salutatorian are, respectively, Brian Neff and Kristin L. Hickey.

Neff is the son of Michael and Kay Neff, Syracuse, and Hickey is the daughter of John LaVelle and Linda Faith Hickey, Syracuse.

    Warsaw VFW Post 1126 recently won first place in color guard marching at the Loyalty Day parade in Logansport. There were 12 VFW posts from the second district of the state in the parade.

Members of the local color guard marching unit are Bob Garee, commander, Carl Brown, Jerry Kesler, Fred Neher, Andy Brown, Chet Zorn and Frank Coplen.

    Frank Sanders Jr., director of Warsaw's summer recreation program, announced that six new regulation horseshoe courts have been established in Bixler Park, north of the city tennis courts. The new horseshoe courts are for the use of all interested persons, young and old.

May 6 1924

    On June 5th, 21 years ago, the first Warsaw-Winona street car was operated over the newly laid car tracks.

Many Warsawans can clearly recall the event, which was heralded with delight. Since then Winona-Warsaw car service has been operated continuously and without profit to the bond holders.
