    Pierceton's Jack Hurt was nominated recently by the Entertainment Network Association for the Most Promising Songwriter of the Year award. Hurt wrote the song "Take Away These Memories," which was nominated as one of final nominees chosen from the Nashville TV program "Record Row Review."

Hurt also had two songs featured on the recent Independent Country Music Awards show in Nashville.

    There will be 108 students from the Warsaw Community High School Marching Band traveling to St. Louis from Thursday evening to Sunday morning. The band is scheduled for two performances: the first in downtown St. Louis at Friday noon and the second on Saturday at Six Flags over Mid-America.
