    Wawasee High School held its Winter Sports Awards Program and winners are: Sean Hoffman, boys swimming, MVP; Janay Peterson, blanket winner; Andrea Junghans, cheerleader/blanket winner; Spencer Aalbregtse, boys basketball MVP; John Merchant, wrestling MVP; and Jennifer Morgan, girls basketball MVP.

March 8 1981

    Stanley E. Pequignot, Warsaw attorney, will be inducted as a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation in ceremonies during the organization's annual dinner meeting in Indianapolis.

The fellows is a foundation membership category signifying professional honor and distinction. Pequignot is among 13 lawyers statewide elected to that honor in 1981.

March 8 1956

    Awards were made at the annual dinner of the Syracuse Women's Bowling Association.

Pat Cripe is the all-events winner with a scratch score of 1,442. In singles competition, Midge Adams won with a handicap score of 564. Thelma Hattersley and Grace Macy were doubles events winner with 1,117 including handicap. Essex Wire's 2,358 with handicap was good for the team event award. Ligonier women who are member of Essex Wire team are Betty Broeker, Eunice Roher, Mary Dazey and Betty and Kate Ostrander

March 8 1931

    Mary Alice Harmon took first place in the county Latin contest which was held at the Warsaw High School building. Her score was 147 out of a possible 153 point, which was eight points above any other contestant.
