    Virginia C. Rufenbarger of Warsaw recently retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Co. after 29 years of service. A stenographer in the Warsaw district office at the time of her retirement, Rufenbarger joined NIPSCO in 1959.

    James Battenfield and Robert Ibach Jr., professors at Grace Seminary and Grace College, are participating in an archaeological expedition to Heshbon, Jordan. The pair joined the team in Amman, Jordan, and will begin excavations June 25. Seven weeks of digging are planned with another week for writing reports and preparing finds for study and display.

June 22 1948

    Hobart Creighton has been selected by the Republican Party of Indiana as its candidate for governor. It is the first time such an honor has come to a resident of Kosciusko County.


75 Years Ago
June 22 1923

    Gypsies, occupying six automobiles, who were driven from Kosciusko and Whitley counties, are alleged to have stolen chickens near Goshen, an automobile near Mishawaka and various articles along the country highway between Goshen and Leesburg.
