    Allen's Designs, opening soon at 111 E. Center St., Warsaw, offers a 14K gold custom designed line of jewelry in addition to individual custom designed pieces. New designs are to be created weekly at the business, owned by Bill and Susan Allen.

Dec. 5 1972

    Myron R. Metzger, Route 2, Claypool, received the Goodyear conservation award, and Howard Silveus, Silver Lake, received the company's outstanding farmer cooperator award in the Kosciusko County district at a meeting held at Purdue University. Metzger and Silveus will be among the 106 grand award winners in the nation to begin a four-day vacation study program Saturday at Marco Island, Fla.

Dec. 5 1947

    Miss Jeannine McKown, of Warsaw, a junior student at Stephens College, Columbia, Mo., was one of 15 girls from an enrollment of 2,254 to be named to the all-school hockey team at the college this year. She played right inner in the traditional Thanksgiving Day game against the faculty hockey team, serving as captain.

Dec. 5 1922

    The Treesh and Brown Road leading south from the Big Four railway crossing near the depot at Leesburg, and thence east toward Oswego, was completed and thrown open to the public Tuesday. It will in time become an excellent road.
