    Officials of First National Bank of Warsaw and Peoples State Bank of Leesburg completed the merger with representatives from both banks meeting for final closing details.

    Details for the annual Shrine Circus caravan to Fort Wayne were outlined this week. All third-graders from participating schools will be guests of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club at the circus at Fort Wayne's Memorial Coliseum. Approximately 1,500 students and more than 100 adults will take part. Charles Bertsch is circus committee chairman.

    Elza Cox, grand old man of the Warsaw Fire Department, has relinquished control of the organization he headed for the past four years, to his assistant and now chief, Sam Lowman. Elza has been a fireman in Warsaw for 45 years, since 1901, when fire department apparatus was hand and horse-drawn.

Dec. 27 1921

    Early today the mercury stood at 60 degrees and the front doors of many business places stood open. Warsaw stores are arrayed with Christmas decorations and well stocked but the weather has been a drawback. Colder weather would be a stimulant to Christmas buying.
