A new and unique "Guidebook to Kosciusko County" has been added to the youth department collection in the Warsaw Community Public Library this month. The guidebook is unique because it was researched and written by fourth grade students in the Warsaw Community Schools. Students in the PACE program in the spring of 1987 chose notable buildings in and around Warsaw, researched their histories and took photographs to illustrate their reports.
Children of the two fourth grade classes at Lincoln School have learned the best way to have a Merry Christmas is to do something to make others happy. They gave up their Christmas gift exchange within the classroom, and each child brought some item of clothing, toys and food to be distributed by the local Salvation Army.
An unusual Christmas operetta, "The Toys That Had to Wait," will be presented by the grade students of Pierceton schools Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. Albert H. Trestrail will direct the operetta, which will be staged at the school gym. The senior high school chorus of 50 voices will open the program, singing selections of seasonal music.
