    BLOOMINGTON - Students at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs have been inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honorary society of public affairs and administration.

Honorees included Emily Barnett, Warsaw, and Lynette Hartman, Leesburg.

August 6 1979

    Official ground-breaking ceremonies were held for the new building at the Dutchtown Brethren Church northeast of Warsaw. Construction on the $275,000 brick-faced structure is expected to begin soon. The 6,780-square-foot building will house a new 312-seat sanctuary, baptistry, offices and pre-school classrooms.

August 6 1954

    Vern Landis, of Warsaw, and Frank N. Nelson, of Pierceton, are listed as charter members of a new horse patrol unit, to be known as the Mizpah Shrine Temple in Fort Wayne.

Landis and Nelson are the only charter members from Kosciusko County.

75 Years Ago

August 6 1929

    According to word brought to Warsaw by farmers, a light frost was experienced in lowlands in parts of Kosciusko County early yesterday. Some tomato plants, other tender vegetation were affected.
