Mark Schmidt, a Warsaw Community High School senior, is one of 40 seniors selected to the Indiana Academic All-Star team. The son of Marvin and Marjo Schmidt, 520 S. Columbia St., Warsaw, Schmidt was one of 316 students nominated for the honor. Selection was based on grades and SAT scores.
Dick Frid, ace auctioneer and moderator of the weekly Saturday afternoon auction program on radio stations WRSW AM-FM, will auction off one of the show's best features, the distinctive sounding "oogah" horn, on the April 22 program. Frid will accept bids on the trusty instrument for the benefit of the 1972 cancer crusade.
