    ANDERSON - Bruce Korenstra, a 1974 Wawasee High School graduate, was named to Anderson University's "Football Team of the Decade" for the 1970s.

Korenstra, who played football at Anderson from 1974-78, was named to the Hoosier-Buckeye All-Conference team for four years. Korenstra, an All-American honorable mention selection one year, was an All-District player three years. He was a four-year letterman.

    Plaques were presented to the 1982 Kosciusko County Farm Bureau "Man and Woman Of The Year" - Karl Stookey and Alice Virginia Long - during the bureau's annual meeting at the Shrine Building, fairgrounds, Warsaw.


50 Years Ago

September 29 1957

    Warsaw Legion Color Guard placed second in the American Legion Day festivities at Knightstown. Those make the trip either as spectators or contestants were Robert Heagy, Kenneth Busselberg, Arthur Bayne, Jack Bullers, Harold Biltz, Robert Garee, Jerry Kesler, the Bill Downhours, Eugene Lowrys and Ernest Longs.

September 29 1932

    In excavating for the roadbed for new Ind. 15, workmen south of Silver Lake discovered several feet down an old corduroy road built of logs 50 or more years ago, which was used by early settlers in winding around what was then swamp land in Silver Lake and vicinity.
