    The Pierceton T-Ball regular season and tournament champs were: Jake Shock, Kurt Boggs, Taran Beeson, Daric Regenous, Michael Goble, Caila Carroll, Brandon Latta, Aaron Lambert, Samuel Anderson and Keki Freds. Their coaches are Alan Wagner and Scott Freds.

    Winner of the complete set of four new Goodyear tires at the Kosciusko County Fair donated by Tobin American Tire, Warsaw, was Beverly Gaunt, Warsaw.

August 27 1958

    Mentone Farmers State Bank VP Kenneth Riner issued a edict to staff members against eating sticky carmel candied corn during banking hours because assistant cashier Fred Marty was unable to open the vault for the day's business. He dispatched an employee to a nearby bank to obtain sufficient amount of cash so the bank could operate through the day.

The following Monday it was found that the door did give way with exertion of much pressure. When employees finally got the big all-steel door open, they found a tiny piece of carmel corn had lodged between its plates nullifying the complicated timing mechanism that regulates the proper opening and locking of the several ton vault door.

    J. Wesley Brown, residing on Crystal Lake Road west of Warsaw, enjoys the unusual distinction of being the only person residing between Warsaw and Crystal Lake who was an inhabitant of that neighborhood 50 years ago.
