10 Years Ago “It’s a dream come true” was the attitude of all those who gathered for the groundbreaking ceremonies at the site of Kosciusko Community Hospital’s Cancer Care Center on Provident Drive, between the Health and Wellness Clinic and MedStat. Mike Mullins, KCH CEO, opened the ceremonies by introducing the guests who played key roles in planning the new facility. John Davis, chairman of the KCH board of trustees, addressed the group and stated how the new facility would be a monument to those who battle cancer. 25 Years Ago Mary Teel, Alta Nellans and Marie Coleman of Mentone, and Dorothy Herendeen of Silver Lake, have returned from a 17-day trip to Alaska, the Yukon and British Columbia. For five days, they also went on a cruise on the Love Boat Sun Princess and the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia. 50 Years Ago The water and lights were turned on in the only “dancing water” pool in Northern Indiana, located in the central plaza of the new Murphy Professional Building on South Buffalo Street. The triple fountains and reflecting pool are visible from the Murphy Hospital parking lot after dark each evening and are turned on and off by automobile timers. Colors in the fountains change constantly when the fountains are in operation. 75 Years Ago Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Schue and daughter, Shirley Ann, have returned home from an extended eastern motor trip which included Pittsburg, Washington, D.C., Atlantic City, New York City and Buffalo. They were accompanied by Mrs. Schue’s parents of Evansville.
