Bell Aircraft Museum, Mentone, held a ground-breaking ceremony July 22 to begin construction on a hangar that will house Bell manufactured helicopters in the museum's collection. The copters are models of those used during the Korean and Vietnam War eras. The first phase was completed in 1982.
Nicole Alspaugh, Whitko High School, and Kyle Rucks, Columbia City High School, were inducted into the 23rd class of the National High School Hall of Fame during a ceremony in San Antonio, Tx.
Anna Linn, Warsaw, celebrates her 85th birthday Aug. 13 with an open house at her home hosted by her family, Ronald (and Mary) and Kevin (and Gina) Gates.

Warsaw resident Sally Denney's recipe for Indiana-Style Corn Dogs was among eight runners-up chosen by Country magazine in its Regional Recipe Contest, which appeared in the June/July issue. She received a copy of the magazine's cookbook, “A Taste of the Country,” as payment for using her recipe, which was adapted from one her mother-in-law, Oney Denney, Warsaw, used for many years. Sally uses Milnot in her recipe; since the magazine is published in the dairy state of Wisconsin, the food editors had never heard of Milnot, and called to ask her if it was the same as evaporated milk.
Okey Burkett used chicken liver to land a 12-pound channel catfish from the Tippecanoe River on Levi Lee Road.

Mrs. Dora Ring, Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, will have to blow hard to put out the 99 birthday candles today, July 10. She has lived in Warsaw for 44 years. Her children are: Russell and Archie, Claypool; Homer and Mrs. Stella Parker, Warsaw.
Akron High School won its ninth summer league baseball game in 10 starts Friday, July 9 by edging Larwill 3-2. The Flyers scored the game-winning tally in the sixth frame with John McFarland as pitcher. John Connor collected a double and one run batted in. Tex Plummer led Larwill with two singles.
Tristan James Mort, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mort, Pierceton, is 13 on July 13.

The new auditorium at Camp Alexander Mack, near Milford, a project of the Dunkard churches in Indiana, was dedicated Sunday afternoon, June 2. The walls are of field stone, the framework is steel and the windows are of stained glass.
