    Shandis Stephens, daughter of Karlise and Shawn Stephens, Warsaw, has been recognized by the U.S. Achievement Academy as a national honor roll winner.

Stephens, who attends Lakeland Christian Academy, will appear in the Academy's official yearbook, which is published nationally.

July 14 1982

    Julie Rankin, 15, of Warsaw, has been named a 1982 United States National Award winner for English by the United States Achievement Academy. As an eighth-grader at Mentone School, Rankin competed against seventh- and eighth-graders all over the U.S., as well as in her own school.

July 14 1957

    Delores Cook, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Cook, of Bourbon, was among 300 delegates to the 1957 National meeting of Future Homemakers of America, held at Purdue University, Lafayette.

A senior at Bourbon School, Cook has been an FHA member since 1954, and has served as state FHA editor.
