    Cub Scout Pack 3761, sponsored by American Legion Post 258, recently held their annual Pinewood Derby and Cake Auction, and 39 boys participated. Winners were, Daniel Barr, Kyle Wright, Scott Jones, Nick Simison, Tim Bermillion, Seth Mowery, James Centers, Jacob Keefer, Chris Bollinger, Josh Wall, Zach Green, A.J. McKenzie, Harrison White and Zachary Pattison.

February 25 1983

    FORT WAYNE - Two area wrestlers grappled their way to Indianapolis' Market Square Arena for the state finals.

Warsaw Community High School will be represented by freshman Billy Ford, who placed second at 112 pounds, and Wawasee will send 132-pounder Mike Hernandez, a third place finisher in the Semistate held at Fort Wayne North Side High School.

    Can a player steal the ball after a "jump" situation at the opponents' free throw line, dribble approximately 55 feet unmolested and lay in a basket within the space of three seconds? Columbia City fans were still ready to argue the point today with the timer, but Charlie Hollar did it last night for Warsaw to give the Tigers a three-packed 61-59 triumph over the Eagles.

February 25 1933

    ROCHESTER - Last October Charles Rhodes gave to his friend, John R. Smith of Mishawaka, a common yellow house cat.

At Christmas time the cat disappeared from the Smith home and hope for its return was soon lost. Footsore and weary, Pussy turned up at the Rhodes home recently after a 55-mile cross-country jaunt through blizzards and cold waves.
