Knights of Columbus 6323 of Syracuse and the Wawasee Marching Band sponsored a coloring contest. Winners were Josh Gohkle, Brittany Hughes, Tiffany Logdell, Brooklyn McCulloch, Tiffany Coy and Ben Slabaugh. Knights representative is Don Curry.
A tapestry of music will fill the stage of Wagon Wheel Theatre Feb. 19 when 64 young men of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club present their 2005 road show of classical to Gospel music under the direction of Brian Breed.
Jane Cope, Kosciusko County auditor chief deputy, has accepted a position with State Auditor Connie Nass in Indianapolis as a settlement manager. Her last day is Feb. 14, her birthday.

Brent Wildman and Youth For Christ are looking for someone to donate a van and accompany the group on a trip March 31 through April 8 to Winter Park Ski Area in Colorado. The outing was originally set up for 25 students, but 40 were interested.
Catch the Purdue Bell Choir for a concert at the First United Methodist Church in Bourbon, sponsored by Triton Ministerial Association.
Kenneth DePoy accepted a special award from president Dan Walcott for service to the Warsaw Kiwanis Club, his church, lodge and community.
NorthWood girls basketball team won its eighth overall sectional title and its fourth in a row with a 33-31 win over Bremen in the championship game of the NorthWood Sectional. The Lady Panthers were led by Heather Smith (11) and Nikki Nettrour (9).

Ralph Wideman and George Beach, both of Warsaw, were seen ice fishing at  the north end of Big Chapman Lake. They reported that fishing was only fair for them but others report that fishing is good on the channels at Tippecanoe Lake, with ice between eight inches and one foot thick.
David Baxter, president of the freshman chapter of the National Honor Society, along with Beth Rasor and Mike Johnston, presented a much-needed instrument to the school.
Cpl. Frank Grose, stationed at Camp Sukiran, Okinawa, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Grose, has been selected to represent the 12th Marine Regiment at Tokyo, Japan, the latter part of January, sponsored by the U.S.O. Danny Kaye will serve as master of ceremonies.

Four Kosciusko County boys are entered in the annual Golden Gloves tournament at the G.E. Club in Fort Wayne. Already, 103 amateur leather slingers are entered and numbers will probably reach 150. Heading the list of entries is Jack Shinn, Mentone, who gave home town fans a rousing battle at the Mentone fair, competing in the middleweight bracket. He is a protege of Carl “Tuffy” Latta, former Indiana National Guard heavyweight champion. Barney Carey, Warsaw High School football player, is entered in the heavyweight division; Art Bayne, Warsaw, is in the welter division, having shown considerable promise in his bouts at the Eagles Club; Gene Yontz, Pierceton youngster, is in the middleweight division and Jimmy Brock, Milford, the 160-175 pound bracket; Raymond Parker, the 200-pound Warsaw battler, may enter the tourney.
