Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice has selected Rick Paczkowski as its new administrator. He brings 19 years of business management experience and has already brought new ideas. Kathy Simpson has been interim administrator.
Barrington Hills is a new housing community on the northwest corner of CRs 350N and 100E, north of Warsaw. The development will feature 52 large lots, a neighborhood park, street lights and a sheltered bus stop in the Harrison Elementary School area.
Wawasee’s defense smothered the DeKalb running back during the first half of the 4A Sectional at Warrior Field. Wawasee won 49-28, winning 10 games in one season for the first time in school history.

Warsaw Community High School theatre students will perform “The Hobbit” Nov. 10 and 11 in the school auditorium. Kip Kline plays Gandolf, the wizard; Kevin Jordan is Bilbo Baggins, the Hobbit; and Stephanie Ringgenberg portrays the elven Queen.
Ann Robinson, a Warsaw Community High School English teacher for 14 years, has been named a “Hoosier Teacher of English” by the Indiana Council of Teachers.  
Warsaw Tiger sophomore Jay Hicks capped an outstanding season by finishing a strong sixth at the state cross country meet at the South Grove Golf Course. Hicks, who placed 27th last year, covered the 3.1-mile course in 15:26, which was just three seconds out of third place. Senior Jason Douglas, Wawasee, came in 61st overall with a time of 16:25.

Private First Class Larry K. Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Elliott, Rt. 4, Warsaw, completed combat training at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Junior high students initiated into the National Honor Society were Rick Shafer, Barbara Cromer, Bonnie Harris, Janet Wiggins, Karen Welborn, Vicky Lowman, Paul Zitterbart, James Bryan, Duane Moore, Tom Webb, Bob Wiltrout, Fred Pfeiffer, Mike Powell and Tim Martin.
Mrs. William A. Nice, 303 North Parker St., and Mrs. Fred C. Bartol, 425 South Buffalo St., are attending the state conference of the DAR at the Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel in Indianapolis.

Warsaw census takers for two weeks next spring will be required to walk about 600 miles of city sidewalks and streets and will speak over 1,000,000 words. Each enumerator will cover 10 miles a day and ask 30 questions from each person.
City health officer Dr. G.H. Schlemmer reminded uptown restaurants, groceries and other business places about the city ordinance requiring tight covers and non-leaking garbage cans. “Arrests are promised,” the health officer said, “unless there is a general cleanup of uptown alleyway garbage conditions.”
Times editorial staff are having the time of their lives following war developments, using pins on their big European map. A large blackboard map will arrive soon so troop movements can be indicated by colored chalk and erased at will.
