One down, three to go for Shanna Zolman to become Indiana’s career scoring leader in high school girls basketball. With 177 points through Wawasee’s first five games this season, Zolman has moved ahead of Rossville’s Jennifer Jacoby and needs just six points Friday night at Culver to climb past North Judson’s Debbie Bolen for third on the scoring list.

Marie Osmond enjoyed a late night snack at Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor in downtown Warsaw following her two performances at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse Friday night. The country-western star accepted an invitation from Henry Schmidlin, who attended the concert. She and her band arrived minutes after midnight before heading to Springfield, Ill. She was accompanied by her husband, Brian Blosil, who she married one month ago.

Workmen were installing electrical equipment for Christmas decorations in downtown Warsaw today. William (Buck) Leedy, general chairman of the Warsaw “Operation Christmas City” committee, said lights for decorations would be turned on for the first time Friday. He said workmen were installing approximately two miles of wire for the 52 Christmas decorations - consisting of bells, Santas and candy canes as well as “skylines” (decorations that extend across the streets).

E.A. Gast recently accompanied his daughter, Martha, and Lowell Ohmart, William Braddock and George Heaton to Bloomington, where they will resume studies at Indiana University after visiting over the Thanksgiving vacation in Warsaw and Winona Lake.
