The Grace College volleyball team shocked NAIA No. 9 Taylor in the NAIA Regional Championship defeating the Trojans 31-33, 27-30, 30-25, 30-28, 15-11 to advance to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history. Grace will enter the tournament with a 26-11 record and unranked. The Lancers began the season at No. 19 in the NAIA Ranking but fell out of the 25 early in the season.

Mid-morning sunshine changed the outlook for most county roads today in the aftermath of the first major snowfall of the year in Kosciusko County. Four inches of wet snow blanketed Warsaw yesterday and caused havoc for motorists. Both the county and city police departments reported numerous weather-related accidents.

Ronald Severns, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Severns, Warsaw, recently was awarded the American Farmer Degree at the National Future Farmers of America Convention at Kansas City, Mo. This is the highest FFA degree, and gives Severns the honor of holding all degrees in FFA since his first award as a freshman at Mentone High School. These awards are based on an outstanding farming program on the home farm, leadership, judging and demonstration activities, and farm organization work. He farms approximately 350 acres.

Mrs. Pearl Anglin was hostess recently to members of the Book Lover’s Club. In answer to roll call, “Way Back When in Warsaw,” many interesting experiences were given. A paper, “Education in Indiana,” was prepared by Mrs. Ada Konold and read by Mrs. Myrtle Anglin. Exercises in better speech and pronunciation were conducted by Mrs. Mae Burget, after which 15 minutes were devoted to conversation and corrections by the club.
