Lady Tigers Softball Remains Undefeated

The Warsaw softball team defeated East Noble 4-2 Tuesday at home, keeping its undefeated season in tact.
Kaleigh Speicher was the winning pitcher, helping to improve the Warsaw Lady Tigers to 3-0 on the year.
Offensively, Kendra Marshall hit two doubles, while Kaitlyn Wiley had two RBIs, joining Speicher and Kelsey Dotson in that category.
The Lady Tigers are back in action Thursday at Mishawaka Marian.

Playing in Columbia City Tuesday, the Wawasee softball team posted a 2-0 win. Entering the game in the fourth inning, Wawasee’s Gabi Routson got the win, going four innings and striking out five. Mattia Rostochak finished the game with two hits and an RBI, while Madi Anderson and Sam Johnson each scored for the Wawasee Lady Warriors. Wawasee is back on the diamond Friday at Manchester High School.

Tuesday in Fort Wayne
Travelling to face 22nd-ranked Fort Wayne Canterbury Tuesday, the Warsaw girls tennis team lost 3-2 in its season opener. In the team loss, Warsaw did receive wins from Sarah Hartle (No. 2 singles), Carlye Bishopp and Lindsay Sciarra (No. 1 doubles). At No. 1 singles, Warsaw’s Alli Tucker was narrowly defeated in three sets, 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 7-6  (7-5). The 0-1 Warsaw Lady Tigers travel to Columbia City Thursday.

Hosting Rochester and Wabash for a three-team Three Rivers Conference meet Tuesday, the Manchester boys track and field team got a win and a loss. Manchester finished the meet with 57 points, while Rochester scored 63 and Wabash finished with 36. Manchester’s Trae Bruce won the high jump, 300 hurdles and 110 hurdles, while Keegan McNeeley won the 100 and 200. Manchester’s Cole Sellers also won the shot put. Hosting Elkhart Memorial and Concord Tuesday, the Warsaw girls track and field team posted two Northern Lakes Conference wins. In defeating Concord 106-26 and Memorial 107-25, Warsaw placed first in 12 of the possible 16 events. Among Warsaw’s winners were Samantha Jensen (discus), Hanna Kammerer (pole vault), Kelly Wildman (long jump), Emily Umbaugh (shot put), Elise White (100 hurdles), Ashley Erba (1600, 3200), Leah Moore (400) and Lilly Fleming (800).
