Times-Union readers may have noticed the little "Clip-N-Cash" teasers in the newspaper recently.
Well, "Clip-N-Cash" is coming for sure and I think it promises to be lots of fun for everybody.
Here's the deal.
From June 14 through Aug. 9 we will publish $250,000 in "Clip-N-Cash" in the newspaper. Read the Times-Union every day to find the "Clip-N-Cash," clip it out and save it.
You can use the "Clip-N-Cash" during any of the Times-Union sponsored auctions throughout the summer.
There will be eight weeks of in-store silent auctions at several of our advertisers' businesses beginning June 21. Just stop in and place your bid by filling out a bid sheet and dropping it in the bid box. Winners will be notified after 5 p.m. on the Friday of each weekly auction.
If you don't spend your "Clip-N-Cash" during the weekly auctions you can save it up and use it at our Grand Auction Aug. 21.
Up for grabs at the Grand Auction will be lots of items provided by our advertisers.
Here are a few: Honda TRX250EX Sportrax ATV from Lake City Honda, gas grill from Ace Hardware, futon with mattress from JB's Furniture, two 2011 season tickets to Wagon Wheel Theatre, a year's membership to the KCH Wellness Center, sewing machine from Lowery's Sewing Center and a Tissot chronograph watch from Bowers Jewelry.
Weekly auction items include things like a foursome with a cart at Rozella Ford Golf Course, an oil change at Midas, a $25 gift certificate from Bennigan's, a $30 massage gift card from Charter Health and a tool box from Ace Hardware.
All you have to do is cut out the "Clip-N-Cash," save it up, bid and spend it!
Before the promotion starts, we will publish a complete list of all the weekly auction and Grand Auction items available so you can map out your strategy and decide which auctions you want to try to win.
You can get together with friends and relatives to pool your "Clip-N-Cash" if you want.
And the great thing is, all it costs you is the price of the newspaper.
You could be the winning bidder on an ATV just for cutting "Clip-N-Cash" out of the Times-Union.
"Clip-N-Cash" will only be printed in newspapers that are delivered to subscribers or are purchased from one of our dealers. For obvious reasons, we won't be publishing "Clip-N-Cash" in newspapers sold out of our vending machines.
If you have "Clip-N-Cash" left over, we'll give you some money off on your subscription.
Advertisers are providing items for the auctions in exchange for advertising in our newspaper. Each "Clip-N-Cash" bill published will have a photo of one of our advertisers who is taking part in the promotion. It's a great chance to increase traffic and awareness for our advertisers. We're still looking for auction items, so if you're a local business and want to join in on the fun, just give us a call.
The best way to get your "Clip-N-Cash" is to subscribe to the Times-Union. It will be delivered right to your door and you won't miss a single dollar of "Clip-N-Cash."
We aren't trying to make money with this promotion. What we are trying to do is gain subscribers and give our advertisers a unique way to promote their products and services.
Our hope is that "Clip-N-Cash" will be fun for readers and advertisers alike.
