Bike Safety Day & Rodeo

On May 17, a Bike Safety Day and Rodeo was held at Jefferson Elementary School for all third- and fourth-grade students and was sponsored by the Warsaw Noon Optimist Club. Some of the highlights of the event include: coloring contest for third- and fourth-grade students with prizes given for the top three safety posters for each grade; approximately 100 bicycle helmets given to the entire third-grade class at Jefferson at a cost of $800; Bicycle Rodeo with six safety and skill events conducted in the parking lot adjacent to Jefferson School; prizes given to top three rodeo contestants from each of the four sections of third grade and three sections of fourth grade at a cost of $350; Dilly Bars given to all 150 students who participated, as well as their teachers and volunteer parents; total donation to Jefferson students of $1,150 for the event.
