Posted
Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals Tuesday night approved a request for a church expansion in a residential zoning district.

Missionary Church North Central District Inc. requested to expand its existing church at 1849 Springhill Road. The expansion will include classrooms and additional space for the congregation.

The new addition and church will be connected to sewer and water.Warsaw City Planner Jeremy Skinner said he did not have a problem with the church expansion.

Skinner said he received some concerns from adjacent property owners suggesting buffering of a detention pond near the church. He said there is adequate buffering for the pond.

DJ Schrock, DJ Construction Co. Inc., Goshen, served as the design contractor for the project. He said he has prepared the expansion drawings.

The board will meet again June 22 at 7 p.m. at city hall.

Zoners are Tom Allen, Mary Ellen Rudisel-Jordan, Rick Keeven, Diana Rhoades and Bruce Woodward.
