Zoners Approve Warsaw Meadows Internally Lit Sign

Posted
Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals approved a variance to allow an internally lit sign in a residentially zoned district Monday night.

The sign is at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, 300 E. Prairie St.

Board member Rick Keeven moved to approve the variance, seconded by board member Tammy Dalton.

The sign will be painted green with taupe lettering, according to Emily Ganshorn, Lake City Awnings and Signs.

The existing sign is not illuminated and is a white sign with green lettering.

The sign will be kept at its current 11-foot, 8-inch height.

Ganshorn said there is a need for the sign to be illuminated for safety of nurses who come and go at night.

Tim Dombrosky, assistant city planner, said there is a warehouse across the street and two to three residential properties that are 200 feet from the care center.

Adjacent property owners have been notified of the sign, and the city did not receive concerns, Dombrosky said.
