Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals approved a variance from development standards Monday to allow for an extension of an existing deck to accommodate a screened porch.
Petitioner Ron Donkers requested a variance from development standards on his property at 31 Fairlane Drive, Warsaw.
The variance will allow for a 4-foot variance from the 7-foot side setback.
Board member Rick Keeven made a motion to approve the variance from development standards. Board member Sean Boylan seconded the motion.
Improvements will include extending the existing platform deck to accommodate a new 14-foot by 14-foot screened porch.
Donkers did not attend the meeting, however, contractor Adam VantWoud attended the meeting and said adjacent property owners have been notified of extending the deck to allow for the screened porch.
Also during the meeting, the board approved Tom Allen serving as board president and Keeven as vice president.
