A Warsaw woman’s vehicle struck the side of Reneker’s Sports Shop Wednesday night after the brakes failed. According to the Warsaw Police Department crash report, Bryanna D. Hanson, 24, Lyon Street, Warsaw, was parked in a space on the north side of Reneker’s and began backing up onto Lyon Street around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday when she realized her vehicle’s brakes were failing. Hanson told officers she saw a vehicle turning onto Lyon Street from Detroit Street so she turned her vehicle to avoid a collision, then ran into the north-facing wall of Reneker’s. The owner of Reneker’s arrived on the scene with a contractor, and officers learned the structural, load-bearing wall had been moved over a foot out of place. Damages were estimated at between $10,000 and $25,000. Hanson was unable to provide proof of insurance and was cited.
