PIERCETON - An Ohio woman was arrested early Sunday morning following an attempted burglary in Pierceton.
According to police reports, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday Pierceton patrolman Matt Owens was conducting a routine patrol of local businesses when he noted a suspicious van parked in front of an overhead door of a business.The report didn't list the name of the business, and attempts to contact Pierceton Police Department officials were unsuccessful.
The driver of the van then fled the scene while another person fled on foot.
After a short pursuit by Owens, the driver abandoned the van southeast of Pierceton.
The driver wasn't arrested.
Police did arrest Rochelle M. DeLong, 34, of Alger, Ohio. Alger was booked into Kosciusko County Jail with a $5,000 bond.
A warrant for the other suspect will be filed by Pierceton police with the Kosciusko County Prosecutors office, according to a press release from Pierceton Town Marshal Tim Sammons.
