Woman Arrested After Being Found With 44 Lbs. Of Cocaine

While traveling west on Ind. 30 Friday evening, Warsaw police officer Phillip Hawks pulled over an Illinois woman allegedly carrying over 44 pounds of cocaine.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., Warsaw Police Dept. Narcotics/Criminal Interdiction members conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Ind. 30 near Ind. 15, Warsaw. The driver was  Jennifer Ann Roehr, 22, of 1233 S. 58th St., Cicero, Ill.
According to the probable cause affidavit provided by Kosciusko County prosecutors, Hawks recognized the smell of marijuana in the car. During the investigation, with the assistance of narcotics K-9 Bubka, police located 41 packages of cocaine inside a suitcase in the trunk, which police estimated totaled just over 49 pounds, according to a press released from the WPD.
Upon further investigation, the total weight of the narcotics was approximately 44 pounds or 20 kilograms, the release states.
Roehr admitted to police that she was making a delivery from Fort Wayne to Chicago.
Police arrested Roehr, 22, for dealing cocaine, a level 2 felony. Her bond was set at $50,500.
Due to the amount of cocaine involved in this case, information from the arrest is being forwarded to the proper authorities, the release states.
