Winona Passes New Set Of Parking Restrictions

WINONA LAKE - New parking restrictions regarding side streets that come in to King's Highway were approved by the Winona Lake town council Tuesday.

The following is designated as no parking according to the ordinance: On A street, 18 feet going north from King's Highway on the east side of the street; on Second Street, 18 feet going south from King's Highway on both sides of the street; on Third Street, 18 feet going south from King's Highway on both sides of the street; on 15th Street, 18 feet going west from King's Highway on the north side of the street; and on Fort Wayne Street, the entire street.

Any violation of this ordinance will result in a $25 fine.

In other business:

• A resolution for pier space rental fees was approved. The fees will be $100 for Winona Lake residents and $150 for nonresidents.

The council also approved the purchase of a hydraulic unit for a plow truck, the transfer of $35,000 from the wastewater fund to the general fund, and the hiring of two additional street employees for leaf pickup.

• Town coordinator Craig Allebach said the Boathouse Restaurant will open officially Monday.
