Indiana Sen. Kent Adams announced Friday the State Budget Committee will likely approve a request for funding through the Build Indiana Fund for each department.
The Mentone Fire Department is slated to receive $25,000 for new thermal imaging equipment. The Winona Lake Fire Department will receive $100,000 for a new tanker truck.
"If approved (by the committee), the funds will be made available upon execution of a grant agreement by the state and the entities receiving the funding," Adams said.
"The Build Indiana Fund is a state grant fund intended to help local governments in need of modest assistance to purchase or improve needed capital assets," Adams said.
He added the committee is scheduled to meet Dec. 15 and he expects the grants to be approved at that time.
