Winona Lake Clerk-Treasurer To Be Recognized At IACT

WINONA LAKE - Winona Lake Clerk-Treasurer Retha Hicks has earned a Level Three Municipal Management Institute Certificate from the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns.Hicks will receive her certification Monday during the annual awards luncheon at the 2008 IACT conference and exhibition in South Bend.
The IACT Municipal Management Institute is sponsored by The Schneider Corp., which was implemented in 2004 to provide innovative, quality education programs to municipal officials in Indiana.
Participants are given the opportunity to sharper their management and leadership skills, learn new techniques for tackling common local issues and improving services to citizens.
After achieving four levels of certification, municipal officials earn designation as an IACT certified municipal official.
IACT is a coalition of municipal officials who seek to improve the quality of life in Indiana through effective government. Founded in 1891, IACT is one of the oldest state municipal organizations in the country, with 464 cities and towns as members.
IACT advocates for municipalities as the official voice of municipal government in Indiana and promotes good government through education, training and leadership.
