Beginning Wednesday, Norfolk and Southern Railroad will close the Winona Avenue railroad crossing for repairs.
Once the Winona Avenue work is complete, the railroad company will close the Pope Street railroad crossing, tentatively set for April 22. Each repair should take approximately one day, weather and work dependent.
When the Winona Avenue crossing is closed, traffic will be detoured on Detroit Street, Pope Street and Park Avenue.
Businesses that use the east Winona Avenue truck route should advise their route drivers to use state routes to access the east side truck route.
When the Pope Street crossing is closed, traffic will be detoured on Detroit Street, Winona Avenue and Park Avenue. Through traffic should avoid these areas and seek an alternate route.
