Winona Avenue, Pope Street Railroad Crossing Information Listed

Norfolk and Southern Railroad closed both the Winona Avenue and Pope Street railroad crossings Monday afternoon.
These railroad crossings are located east of South Detroit Street near Warsaw Party Rental and Warsaw Cut Glass. The railroad company is replacing long lengths of trail rail affecting both these crossings at once.
The work should be completed by late Wednesday or early Thursday.
East Winona Avenue is part of the city truck route and trucks should use East Center Street as a detour. Traffic should avoid these areas.
The city of Warsaw was not properly notified by the railroad company of this closing ahead of time.
