Whitko To Host Event For Public To Meet School Board CandidatesLARWILL – The Whitko Classroom Teachers Association will host an evening for the public to meet this fall’s school board candidates.

It will be held at the Whitko Central Offices in Larwill starting at 7 p.m. Oct. 16, according to a news release from Whitko Marketing and Communications Coordinator Nathan Haywood.

Introductions will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Each candidate will share about themselves and discuss why they are running for Whitko School Board.

A question-and-answer session will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Pre-approved questions will allow candidates to expand on their vision for the future of Whitko Community Schools and how they perceive and plan to address issues facing the school corporation.

No questions will be taken from audience members during the question-and-answer session, rather a moderator has been selected and candidates will have a chance to answer questions guided by the moderator.

A short reception will follow from 8:30 to 9 p.m. The public can talk one-on-one with candidates as time allows.

The release states the event will be hosted as a Facebook Live Event. Whitko is asking that all in attendance understand in advance that the event will be part of a live recording, and that students and children are welcome to attend. As such, Whitko requests that all in attendance help maintain a presence that is kid friendly and welcoming to all.
