Whitko High School Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko High School has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for 2016. Graduation is June 10. Valedictorian is Emily Hope Hughes, Pierceton. Her parents are Todd and Robin Hughes. She plans to attend Valparaiso University to major in biology. Activities she is involved in are volleyball, softball, student council, National Honor Society, Ski Club, Fellowship Of Christian Athletes, Campus Life, Art Club, Students Against Drunk Driving and South Whitley United Methodist Church youth group. Salutatorian is Veronica Corrine Palmer. Her parents are Michael and Yvette Palmer, Larwill. She plans to attend Carthage College to major in Spanish. She has long-term plans to become a translator. Activities she is involved in are English and Social Studies Academic Teams, National Honor Society, One Community, Students Against Drunk Driving, Book Club, Mentor of Middle School Social Studies Academic Team and boys basketball videographer.
