Warsaw Community Schools announced today that Cathy Suhany, WCS school psychologist, has been named IASP School Psychologist of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Psychologists in a ceremony Sept. 16 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Indianapolis. Suhany completed her school psychology training at Ball State University and holds her Indiana Department of Education school psychology license, independent practice endorsement and Nationally Certified School Psychologist designation. Suhany has been with WCS since 1990, according to the press release from the school district. Her nominations noted that her outstanding leadership skills have enhanced the quality of special education services in the schools she serves in WCS, the release states. A fellow school psychologist notes that Suhany serves as the facilitator for the North Central Indiana Special Education Cooperative’s School Psychology Study Council, is knowledgeable, and quick to identify new resources to help the district meet the needs of the students. “WCS would like to congratulate Cathy Suhany for this statewide honor, for her excellent representation of the school district, and for what she does on a daily basis for the best interest of the students,” the release states.
