Warsaw Community High School Theater Department is performing the musical ‘The Secret Garden’ in November. Candace Rich (L), publicity chairperson of the WCHS Theater Boosters, requested that Kosciusko Literacy Services supply copies of the book ‘The Secret Garden’ to each fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classroom. Rich has invited teachers to introduce the novel to their classroom and host a cast member in costume to present to the elementary students. In addition, students may enter a drawing contest to depict an aspect of the novel. The art will be displayed in the gallery area of the Performing Arts Center. The Theater Department will perform the musical at the PAC at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8-9 and at 2:30 pm Nov. 10. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students. Kosciusko Literacy Services is providing 70 copies of ‘The Secret Garden.’ Executive Director Cindy Cates (R) states that combining literature, theater and art encourages children to engage in reading. Cates is shown presenting the books to Rich. Kosciusko Literacy Services fosters literacy in Kosciusko County.
