A smorgasbord of student art was on display Thursday evening in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center, from videos and fashion to music and a one-act play.
During the 40th Annual Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa Art Exhibit & Fine Arts Festival, student artwork is on display in the Black Box Theatre in the PAC.
Zaya Henn’s pieces were concentrated on one central idea – destruction.
“I tried to focus on some of the more violent connotations the word has, but also maybe subvert it a little bit,” she said.
Her media varied from piece to piece to make them more intense, she said.
Austin Bowell had a dozen oil pastels.
“The idea that I kind of focused on was ‘behind the curtain,’ so what happens behind the scenes at a hospital,” she said.
Dezaray Miller centered her pieces around interior design because that’s what she wants to major in and she’s passionated about.
“I did it through different mediums. I did it with pen. And I did the structure of it and how it was built originally. It’s also a remodeling project that I was able to be a part of, so you can see the process of it. I also did sketches of the before and after, and I also did it digitally and took photographs,”?she said.
The festival began at 6 p.m. and featured student videos, a textile fashion show, jazz band performance, a one-act play and string ensemble on the stage.
In the rotunda were live music, culinary arts appetizers, art demonstrations, a STARR program exhibit and an exhibit of the work by Lauren Klusman.
